Former Team Canada controller Marvin Goldblatt has told us in the past that these “Gladstone” sculptures were produced at a high cost for the 1984 Canada Cup tournament, making for appealing international hockey souvenirs. With a total height of 9” and with “Coupe Canada Cup” engraved on a metal plate affixed to the black base, the funky maple leaf work includes the sculptor’s name (“Galdstone”) at the base of the sculpture. We’re not sure who this one was presented to; it was left behind at the Montreal Forum. Their loss could be your gain!
