Jean Beliveau Foundation Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/11/2008
Special pieces from the night the Montreal Canadiens paid tribute to one of the team’s most respected and idolized players includes a one- of-a-kind banner from the March 24, 1971 event. It measures 19” wide and over 12 feet long and features “Le Gros Bill”s facsimile signature. Joining it is an unopened “kit” picturing Beliveau, wife Elise and daughter Helene and including a poster inside (picturing career goals 498, 499 and 500), along with a Beliveau pinback button. A big pewter mug is engraved “From your Friends and Fellow Employees at Molson’s” on one side, with “Felicitations de Tous tes Amis chez Molson” on the other, the date appearing beneath both engravings. Kept by the Beliveau family for over 35 years, the collection will come with Jean Beliveau’s signed LOA.
