Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - October 2007
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/23/2007
Viceroy took over from Converse as the official supplier of pucks to
NHL teams in 1977-78, with the Canadian teams switching to Viceroy a
couple of seasons earlier. Big batch here features duplication, with
the rundown as follows: Rangers (11), Sabres (8), Islanders (7),
Leafs (6), Blues (6), Flyers (6), Flames (5), Canadiens (5), Capitals
(5), Red Wings (4), Nordiques (3), Kings (3), North Stars (2), Jets
(2), and Bruins, Hawks, Canucks, Flames (1 each). None show game
use, with varying degrees of grubbiness to the rubber-crested logos.
All but four (2 Leafs, 2 Rangers) are “V3” slugs (large “CANADA” on
the side), with the “Viceroy MFG. CO. LTD.” notation on the back.
Great lot for a dealer who knows how to clean’em up!
