Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - March 2007
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/27/2007
Splendid minor league piece is from Tim Horton’s first season as a pro and first of three with the AHL Pittsburgh Hornets. A quick note from Baz Bastien typed on “The Gardens” (Duquesne) letterhead is dated February 7, 1950, and was sent along with a 5” by 8” page autographed by the ’49-50 Hornets to an autograph requesting fan in Levis, Quebec. It’s signed by 19 including several familiar players, with the key Horton signature at the bottom of the first column and just below that of Al Rollins who would win the Vezina Trophy with the Maple Leafs the following season. Other notables are Fleming Mackell, Pete Langelle, Rudy Migay, Bob Solinger, Gil Mayer and Bastien. Mostly bold autographs with the Horton one of the nicest.
