Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - March 2007
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/27/2007
Marcel Paille’s 18-year pro career included parts of seven seasons with the New York Rangers, with whom he made his NHL debut in 1957-58, shutting out the Black Hawks 5-0 in his first game! Marcel’s Rangers souvenirs are highlighted by four impressive tumblers with “Rangers” diagonally and facsimile autographs of the ’57-58 team, which is pictured in an 8” by 10” glossy. A team photo creation is a souvenir from Washington’s Birthday, 1965 at Madison Square Garden and 18 near mint individual 5” by 7” team-issued glossy photos (circa ’64-65) are also special, as are nine photos of Marcel in action at MSG. Bobby Hull wearing number 16 is included while Paille posed wearing a crude face mask is also of note. A booklet on the “new” MSG and a big papery photo of Marcel complete the lot. One tumbler is broken and possibly repairable while there is scotch tape or edge stains on the action photos. Cool Rangers lot obtained directly from the family of Marcel Paille.
