A hard-working journeyman who spent fifteen (15) years playing in the National Hockey League during his playing career, Leon Rochefort would experience hockey's ultimate thrill by winning the Stanley Cup as a member of the Montreal Canadiens in 1966 and 1971. Having suited up for a total of 617 NHL games from 1960-61 to 1975-76 with teams such as New York, Montreal, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Detroit, Atlanta and Vancouver, up on the block here is this jersey worn by Rochefort during the 1973-74 season as a member of the Atlanta Flames. A heavy durene knit garment made by Rawlings, a label from the brand displaying a size "46" designation is affixed to the inner collar. Decorated over the front with a Flames team crest in layered tackle twill, the sleeves and verso of the garment have had Rochefort's number "11" sewn to them in dual layer white-over-yellow tackle twill numerals. Exhibiting excellent game-use, stick marks are present over the front, reverse and both sleeves with other evidence of battle scars found via scrapes, board burns and coloured board paint transfers in all the same areas as well. Having had its original loop style fight strap removed carefully from the interior by a trainer, the jersey displays excellent game-wear in the form of stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves with numerous board burns and scrapes dotting both sleeves as well. Sporting additional battle scars via red coloured board paint transfer marks over the reverse hem and a green coloured one at the lower front, a small hole is seen over the lower reverse as well along with a good pilling on the interior.
