A great trio of vintage WHL jerseys from the late-1970s to late-1980s are here for your consideration, with examples from the Victoria Cougars, Lethbridge Hurricanes and Portland Winter Hawks. 1) Late-1980s Portland Winter Hawks game-worn jersey attributed to Scott Melnyk. Cooper size tagging remains affixed to the collar, with an additional Cooper embroidered patch on the back bottom hem. Styled with a knit team crest and tackle twill numbers, the mesh v-neck garment also sports matching tomahawk patches over each shoulder. Nice use is exhibited, with a few slits on the lower front, along with heavy board burns with resulting holes over the right sleeve. There are also a few traces of red goal-post paint transfer near the left elbow, and evidence of a former nameplate. 2) Late-1980s Lethbridge Hurricanes game-worn jersey attributed to Jeff Ferguson. With the former Cooper label detached from the collar, an embroidered Cooper logo sits on the right side of the back bottom hem, with “Bert & Mac’s Cycle” on the left. Styled with an attractive team crest along with tackle twill numbers, there are also affixed stars on both sides above the breasts and on each sleeve. Game-wear includes a few marks on the lower front and on each sleeve, with a slit along the bottom front red striping band, with an additional small hole on the reverse to the left of the numbers. 3) Late-1970s Victoria Cougars game-worn jersey attributed to Greg Adams. Cooper tagging sits affixed to the collar, with “18” in tackle twill on the reverse and sleeves. Featuring an attractive vinyl team crest, the garment shows nice use, with large repair patches that have been added to each sleeve near the elbow sections.
