One of the larger and more physical defenseman during the era at 6’4”, 225 pounds, Larry Robinson aggressively patrolled the Montreal Canadiens blueline for almost two decades before finishing out his storied 20-year National Hockey League career with a trio of seasons in the California sunshine with Wayne Gretzky as a member of the Los Angeles Kings. A product of the Kitchener Rangers who was drafted 20th overall by the Canadiens at the 1971 NHL Amateur Draft, "Big Bird" would win a total of six Stanley Cups as a player while also donning the maple leaf of Team Canada numerous times including at the Canada Cup. Offered here, we present this jersey worn by Robinson as a member of the Los Angeles Kings during the 1990-91 season. Made by CCM, a Maska Ultrafil label that displays a handwritten size "54" designation in blue ballpoint pen is affixed to the inner collar while the logos of both CCM and the NHL shield have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Kings team crest that has had "Los Angeles Kings" and other details including the crown at the bottom embroidered into it, the distinguished alternate captain's "A" has been placed over the left breast. Accented over sleeves and verso with Robinson's number "19" in dual layer tackle twill numerals, "Robinson" has been spelt out in matching style dual layer tackle twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate across the top of the back. Exhibiting moderate game-wear throughout, stick marks are observed over the lower front, lower reverse and both sleeves with the latter of the three (3) areas also displaying board burns over both as well. Sporting additional wear via a slash mark near the left elbow and a small team repair under the "1" on the right sleeve, sweat staining is found around the collar while pilling and fraying is seen on the interior. Originally hailing from the personal collection of Robinson's former teammate and legendary goaltender, Patrick Roy and accompanied by his signed LOA, Robinson has signed the top of the "9" on the reverse with a black marker ink signature that displays without issue. Additionally, Robinson has added an inscription reading "Merci, Patrick, Vous Etes Le Meilleur, Bonne Chance" in matching ink.
