Larry Robinson played 17 full seasons for the Montreal Canadiens from 1972-73 to 1988-89 and three more for the L.A. Kings from 1989-90 to 1991-92. He won the Norris Trophy twice as the league's best defenceman, in the 1976-77 and 1979-80 seasons, and was also the recipient of the Conn Smythe Trophy in 1977-78. Towering Habs D-man Larry Robinson stepped up once more during the 1985-86 season, helping his team to another Stanley Cup victory, his sixth Stanley Cup conquest with the Montreal Canadiens. This is Larry's road red CCM uniform from that year which has the embroidered CCM logo on the tail and his alternate captain’s "A" is sewn on the upper chest. A Maska Ultrafil tag in the neck is sewn over an "86 01" born on date tag. There is lots of pilling in the area surrounding the well-washed fight strap. There are fourteen circular team repairs on the right sleeve with an additional sixteen circular sewing fixes on the left sleeve. More game wear includes numerous game marks on both sleeves and front and back of the jersey. The jersey is photo-matched to May 24th 1986 Stanley Cup Finals Game Five Cup-clinching game locker room victory celebrations Getty Images #847012870 to the perfect placement/size/spacing of the 12+ small red loose threads located on the upper edge of the team’s crest. The finest Robinson jersey we ever had the pleasure of handling! Comes with a pair of LOAs.
One of the LOA states that the jersey was originally acquired from an Edmonton Oilers employee who collected sticks and jerseys over his 15 year employment with the Oilers.
