Founded in 1949 and serving as the most successful CFL franchise of the modern era, the Edmonton Eskimos have won fourteen Grey Cup championships since 1954. Hailing from the late-1970s, circa 1979, we have a large collection of Eskimos colour and black and white negatives in 35mm and other sizes totaling approx 975, with the breakdown for the 35mm negatives roughly 570 colour and 301 black and white. Still housed in the original period envelopes, with most listing the game or event, highlights include images of Jackie Parker at Clarke Stadium on the day of the final game at the venue (Aug 25, 1978), moments from the 1979 Grey Cup parade in Montreal, images of Eskimos past GM, President and CEO Hugh Campbell in 1978, Warren Moon in 1979 – including his “1st Day” as an Eskimo, over 150 colour images from the 1979 Grey Cup game (Montreal vs Edmonton) and more. A number of individual players are also featured in larger-sized colour negatives including approx 2 ½” x 2 ¾”, with HOFers Larry Highbaugh, Tom Wilkinson, Dave Cutler, Ron Estay, Brian Fryer, Hank Ilesic, Dave Fennell and Dan Kepley, along with Carl Crennell, Stu Lang, Mike Wilson, Angelo Santucci, Dave Potter, Ed Jones, Eric Upton, Bob Howes, Pete Lavorato, Dave Zacharko, Leo Blanchard, Emilio Fraietta, David Boone, Gregg Butler, Marko Cyncar, Jim Germany, Brian Kelly, Jimmy Walker and others.
