Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Already a Stanley Cup champion with the New Jersey Devils in 2000, Krzysztof Oliwa would find himself back in the big dance with his sixth NHL franchise, the Calgary Flames, during the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals against the Tampa Bay Lightning. A single size “58” flag tag is affixed to the collar with embroidered crests for KOHO and the NHL over the reverse hem and neckline respectively. The front of the tie-neck garment is stylized with a layered tackle twill Flames team crest while the sleeves and verso have been stylized with Oliwa’s number “33” in matching material, with alternate crests over each shoulder. Worn during games 3 and 4 of the series, the jersey exhibits light visible wear with light stick marks on each sleeve and a mark at both the bottom of the front crest and lower front. A liquid stain is also seen on the front crest. A MeiGray patch numbered “B01670” is sewn to the interior hem and according to their population report, the jersey is a “Red Stanley Cup Finals” specimen. An LOA will accompany.
