A veteran of 874 National Hockey League contests split between five (5) different clubs over the course of fifteen (15) years in the league, Kevin Stevens is best remembered for his time in the Steel City as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins where he helped the Pens to two (2) straight Stanley Cup championships in 1991 and 1992. Selected to three (2) straight NHL All-Star Game's between 1991 and 1993, offered here is this Penguins jersey worn by Stevens during the latter portion of the 1989-90 season. Made by CCM and featuring a washed out Maska Ultrafil label affixed to the inner collar that displays a size "52" designation penned in blue ballpoint pen ink, Stevens' number "25" has also been written over the tag in black marker ink. Having had both the CCM and NHL shield logos embroidered into the reverse hem, the front of the jersey is decorated with a Penguins team crest that features embroidered details throughout while the 1990 NHL All-Star Game patch, hosted that year by Pittsburgh, has been added over the left shoulder. Distinguishable as a third set specimen by the style of crest over the front as well as the CCM and NHL shield logo combo on the reverse hem, the sleeves and verso have had Stevens' number "25" sewn to them in dual layer tackle twill numerals while "Stevens" is spelt out in single layer black twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate across the top of the back that goes from shoulder to shoulder. Worn in games between February 2nd, 1990 to March 31st, 1990, the jersey exhibits good game-wear via stick marks and team repairs to the front and both sleeves while more stick marks are observed over the reverse as well. Showing additional wear through board burns on both sleeves and coloured paint transfers over the right breast and left sleeve, a couple of small unrepaired cuts are present over the left cuff as well. Additionally, pilling is found at both elbows on the interior along with heavy rusting to the snaps of the fight strap.
