Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
Beginning his professional hockey career with a single season in the WHA with Birmingham in 1977-78, Ken Linesman would see action with four different NHL clubs throughout his tenure, with a Stanley Cup championship won with the Edmonton Oilers in 1984. From his time in Boston where averaged just under a-point-a-game throughout his six seasons, we have a photo-matched Bruins jersey worn by Linseman in 1986-87. A CCM label with handwritten "52" sizing is affixed to the collar, with a CCM logo to the reverse hem. Styled with the classic spoked-B team crest in layered tackle twill, "13" is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with Bruin alternate crests to each shoulder. The dual-clasp fight strap is intact. Great game-use is exhibited on the vintage sweater, with numerous puck and stick marks to the front and sleeves along with scrapes, burns, pulls and transfer marks. There is also pilling to the interior sleeves, with team repairs situated on the front (1) and sleeves (20). Getty Image #900377322 (incorrectly dated but possibly Feb. 7, 1987) has been matched to some marks on the number "13" on the left sleeve and to the long loose white thread on the #1, and to some marks on the left sleeve and to the placement of a team repair at the junction of the lower and yellow stripes. Additionally, Getty Image #82584081 (undated 1986-87 season) and #82584406 (undated 1986-87 season) are matched to the showing of the correct placement/details of the nameplate.
