Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club's comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
The Canadiens were always in the running for the Stanley Cup throughout the 1970s and a moment from that magical era is captured in this display. Here, you will spot Hall of Famer Ken Dryden in the early stages of his career keeping his eyes on the puck as fellow legend Serge Savard begins a rush with Rick Martin of the Buffalo Sabres in hot pursuit. There are a few scuffs and marks on the front and corners of the frame as to be expected from hanging in one of hockey's holy temples, but it will display nicely in your home or office. Some of the lamination along the front edges does show light signs of wear, but the photo remains intact. However, this will in no way take away from your enjoyment of this unique piece. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens, this framed display was likely displayed at the Montreal Forum and possibly later on at the Molson Centre/Bell Centre. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
