Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018

A Calder Cup winner with the Springfield Indians in 1991, goaltender Kay Whitmore had been previously drafted by the now-defunct Hartford Whalers in 1985, appearing in parts of 4 seasons with the club before moving on to stints with Calgary, Vancouver and Boston. This Bruins jersey was worn by the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy winner in 2000-01, his only season in Beantown. “Goalie Style” labeling along with a size “58” fly tag grace the collar, with embroidered KOHO and NHL crests over the back neckline and bottom hem respectively. Styled with the “third” jersey Bruins team crest that was in use for a decade, from 1995-96 until 2005-06, the solid yellow V-neck has been embellished with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching “Bruins” crests over each shoulder. A few marks are visible over each sleeve, along with a few minor stains on the lower front. There is also some pilling along the bottom right side along the seam, with a team repair present to the right of the team crest. The team patch has been screened onto the backside of the team crest, with a COA from the Bruins organization to accompany.
