Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2002-03 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead, with this section of impressive jerseys offered online with the familiar Classic Auction bidding rules applying.
A gold medal winner at the 1996 World Juniors with Team Canada, netminder Jose Theodore spent parts of 16 seasons in the NHL, with the bulk of his time seeing action with Montreal. We have a Canadiens jersey that was worn by Theodore in 2002-03. “Goalie Style” size tagging sits along the collar, with embroidered NHL and KOHO crests on the bottom hem and back neckline respectively. Styled with the famous CH team crest that’s been partially embroidered, the solid red V-neck has been accented with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Theodore” across the nameplate in single white twill. Visible game-wear includes just a single dark mark on the upper right sleeve. A patch from MeiGray numbered A02124 sits on the inside hem, while a hologram affixed to the reverse number “0” matches the accompanying LOA from the Canadiens. We should also note that according to the MeiGray population report, the jersey is a "Red - Promotional" example.
