Fantastic treasure of a goal puck is the late Johnny Wilson’s first Stanley Cup Playoffs goal puck! Wilson scored his first of four playoff goals in 1952 with this puck in the Detroit Red Wings’ 3-0 win over Toronto at the Olympia on March 25 in Game 1 of their four-game semi-final sweep of the Maple Leafs. "1st Playoffs Goal against Toronto 52" is handwritten on one side of the Art Ross NHL official game puck, which has a screw hole in the middle of the other side. This awesome piece of Red Wings playoff history from the height of Detroit’s 1950s Stanley Cup dynasty comes with an LOA from the Wilson family plus a Classic Auctions LOA.
Wilson, who played in each of the Red Wings’ eight playoff games, scored his four playoff goals in the first three games of the semi-final against Toronto. He scored the lone goal in Detroit’s 1-0 win in Game 2, and a pair in the Red Wings’ 6-2 road win in Game 3 at Maple Leaf Gardens.
