Johnny Bucyk has twice autographed his team-signed 1971-72 Boston Bruins Stanley Cup champions game-used stick, which is also signed by fellow HOFers Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito and Gerry Cheevers. There are a total of 21 signatures, including 20 red marker autographs from the likes of Stanfield, McKenzie, Hodge and Cashman along the front of the Sher-Wood Patten Pro stick, which was shaved bare for those signatures to be applied and retains Chief’s original tape jobs. Bucyk placed a second autograph with a “game used” annotation in black marker further down the shaft from the “Bucyk 9” factory stamp. Comes with a PSA/DNA LOA for the autographs and a letter of provenance.
From just below Bucyk’s original tape job on the knob and down the front of the shaft the stick is signed in red marker by Ted Green, Ace Bailey, Bucyk, Esposito, Cheevers, Matt Ravlich, Dallas Smith, John McKenzie, Reggie Leach, Fred Stanfield, Wayne Cashman, Don Marcotte, Derek Sanderson, Ken Hodge, Ed Johnston, Ed Westfall, Rick Smith, Mike Walton, Orr and Don Awrey. The shaft of the stick is slightly bowed inward and the are various white paint spots on the back side of the stick on the blade and along the shaft.
