Second on the all-time wins list for American-born goaltenders, John Vanbiesbrouck began his career in Manhattan and saw him spend ten (10) seasons with the Blueshirts, the team that drafted him 72nd overall in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft, with the young goaltender winning a Vezina Trophy in 1986. Offered here, we present this stick used by JVB during the first couple years of his NHL career in New York as a member of the Rangers. A Louisville 2625B model in a blue and white colour way, "Vanbiesbrouck" is stamped over the upper shaft and was partially covered by tape that has been cut away to reveal the rest of his surname. Retaining its original tape jobs of white over the knob and blade, an intact accent sticker is seen over the handle where the shaft and paddle meet. Exhibiting game-wear via puck marks throughout both sides of the paddle and shaft with the latter sporting some blue coloured marks as well, the blade tape also shows pucks over both sides as well along with a large rip on the forehand side near the heel. Displaying cracks to the top edge of the paddle as well as the toe of the blade underneath the white cloth wrapping, Vanbiesbrouck has signed the forehand side of the blade over the tape near the heel with a blue ink signature that displays with fading from age but remains fully legible. Additionally, Beezer has added a notation above the signature reading "Best Wishes" in matching blue ink that displays in the same condition as the autograph.
