Currently serving as Assistant Coach of the Oshawa Generals, Joe Cirella skated in over 800 NHL contests throughout his career, noteworthy as the very last former Colorado Rockies player in the NHL. We have a New Jersey Devils jersey that was worn by the Hamilton native in 1983-84, his first full season with the club. Gerry Cosby MSG labeling along with a CCM tag sit affixed to the collar, with an additional Cosby label along with an embroidered CCM crest over the inside hem, as the bottom of the garment was “hemmed-up”. Styled with the classic horned “N” team crest administered in tackle twill, the green and red colour combo was used until 1992. Accented with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, an intact well tattered tie-style flight strap has also been utilized. An LOA will accompany.
A few marks are present over the lower front and sleeves, with some mild puckering to both the team crest and reverse numbers. There are also three team repairs over the left sleeve, with an additional large example over the lower front hem. We should also note that the alternate captain’s “A” situated over the left breast was probably added later.
