Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
A member of the 1980 Canadian men’s national Olympic hockey team, Jim Nill was drafted by St Louis in 1978 and dressed for five different clubs throughout his career including Winnipeg, Boston and Detroit. This Red Wings jersey was worn by the Hanna native during the late-1980s, specifically in 1987-88 or 1988-89. Measuring-out to a size 50 and with no tagging remaining along the collar, Eastside and CCM crests appear heat-pressed and embroidered respectively on the reverse hem. Styled with the classic winged-wheel team crest with embroidered detailing, “8” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in single white twill, with “Nill” in individual letters affixed directly to the upper reverse. Sporting nice game-use, there are marks, burns and blue paint transfer over the front and sleeves, with a small hole resulting from a burn on the right elbow.
