Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Created by artists Jules Lasalle and Annick Bourgeau and limited to 50 copies, this impressive bronze work of the immortal Jean Beliveau is a scaled-down replica of the giant bronze statue erected in August of 2007 in front of Le Colisee Jean Beliveau in Longueuil, Quebec, the Montreal south shore suburb where Mr. and Mrs. Beliveau lived for more than 50 years. Longueuil re-christened its arena in 1970 and voted to mark the city’s 350th anniversary with a dazzling work of art featuring it’s most famous and beloved citizen. At 18” in height and mounted on a wooden base, the attractive and expertly executed work captures the former Montreal Canadiens’ captain in the latter stages of his career, with trusty Victoriaville Pro model stick in hand. In gorgeous condition with no issues, the bronze is ready to be displayed and enjoyed. Hailing from Mr. Beliveau’s personal collection, an LOA from the Beliveau family will accompany.
