Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
One of the greatest players Finland has ever produced, Jari Kurri was a five-time Stanley Cup champion throughout his 17-season NHL career, the Helsinki native also garnered the prestigious Lady Byng Memorial Trophy in 1985. We have a helmet worn by Kurri during the mid-to-late-1980s, while with the Oilers. A Jofa model in Oilers’ blue with the harness, padding and chin strap intact, “17” appears in decals along the reverse, with additional Oilers' stickers affixed to each side. Heavily scratched and missing the original Jofa factory stickers, holes also appear along each side, suggesting that a visor was once attached to the head gear. Considerable wear is present, with an interior pad partially detached along with wear to both the reverse decals and side-mounted Oilers stickers. The remnants of a signature are also present, with the majority rubbed off. An original purchase invoice from 1998 will accompany.
