Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
In 1998 Jacques Villeneuve was the reigning World Champion and would carry the #1 on his Williams FW20 Chassis. Jacques finished the 1998 season fifth overall in the Championship with six top five finishes, his best being third place in both the German and Hungarian Grand Prix’s. This Bell Dominator helmet, painted by Bell SPORTS Europe and tagged 98-15, was used during the latter half of the 1998 season. The helmet shows nice use with a number of small chips in the paint and as with most of Jacques’ helmets the sponsor logos are stickers applied on top of the paint so they can be changed to suit any particular race weekend. Jacques has covered the top and front air vents with heli-tape to reduce air-flow into the helmet as well. The drink tube and the full radio still remain intact and a few tear-offs which are still attached to the visor which is signed by Villeneuve. Also included is the original Bell carrying bag with “J.V. 98-15” handwritten annotations. This item is from Jacques Villeneuve’s personal collection and will come with his signed LOA.
