This tremendous memento commemorates one of the Montreal Canadiens' least likely Stanley Cup triumphs. This personal trophy was awarded to Jacques Lemaire, whose Game 7 goal in the 1971 final launched a comeback win at Chicago Stadium. Henri Richard scored the tying and winning goals and captain Jean Beliveau hoisted the Cup for a 10th and final time. The Habs needed 20 of a possible 21 playoff games to claim Lord Stanley's chalice, beginning with a stunning quarter-final upset win over Bobby Orr and the Big, Bad Bruins. Backed by the Conn Smythe winner Ken Dryden's goaltending, Montreal beat Minnesota in six before going the limit against Chicago. Lemaire contributed 19 points while Frank Mahovlich set and tied playoff records with 14 goals and 27 points. This miniature replica of hockey's most coveted prize has acquired a golden patina and stands just under 13" tall. Its barrel displays the names of nine HOFers, including GM Sam Pollock. The trophy remains in gorgeous condition with a few tiny areas of silver loss. Lemaire's name is written on a green sticker inside the bowl that has a greenish hue around it. The green felt bottom is autographed by Jacques Lemaire, who has signed an LOA that accompanies this magnificent piece from his personal collection.
