Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
An intriguing group of vintage items are offered, with both jerseys and equipment. We have three jerseys, with a pair of souvenir Leafs examples along with an Islanders jersey signed by Vladimir Malakov, followed by a Franklin goal mask signed by the circa-1996 Anaheim Ducks along with an additional Franklin street mask with Florida Panther graphics. Next, we have a pair of 1960s CCM gloves along with four vintage helmets including a desirable leather example from the 1930s/1940s manufactured by D&R. The Islanders jersey features Maska tagging, with an embroidered team crest and tackle twill identifiers, with Makarov signing the chest with “To Mike”, with the jersey quite dirty and discoloured. The souvenir Leafs examples hail from the late-1970s, both durene, with a home and away example both with tackle twill numbers along with heavy wear. Next, the Ducks signed mask has approx. 28 signatures with Steve Rucchin, Garry Valk, Mike Sillinger, Robert Dirk, Dave Karpa and others. The CCM gloves show heavy wear, with a few small holes in the palm of the right glove, while the D&R leather helmet remains in wonderful condition, with a perfect stamping and cloth label, ideal for display. Lastly, the remaining three helmets include a child’s harness from the 1960s/1970s made by Cooper Weeks, with a Habs logo present on the forehead section, with the other two early plastic helmets being a D&R model, along with a Cooper Weeks example that has been painted red, with the paint chipping off.
