Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Goaltending great Lorne “Gump” Worsley got the most out of his goalie equipment as evidenced by this lot of three of his game-used items, including his goalie skates and his extremely well-worn chest and arm protectors. The deceased HOFer’s CCM Tackaberry Prolite size 8 1/2 goalie skates have “Gump” handwritten inside the cuff of the heel of each boot. The chest protector and arm protector were worn by Gump for a long time judging by the amount of game wear on them. Worsley is wearing the arm protector and the chest protector hangs behind him in the North Stars’ dressing room in a snapshot that is included. Comes with Gump Worsley’s signed LOAs for the chest and arm protectors.
There is a portion missing of the hard leather undersole of the boot of the right skate along the inner edge of the toe.
The 3 1/2" x 5” dressing room snapshot of Worsley has a “FEB 72” date stamp. The sleeve of the arm protectors measure 19” long, with the padded portion across the chest measuring approximately 13” wide.
The chest protector measures 21” at its widest and 22” tall.
