A product of the OHL's Toronto Marlboros who was drafted 80th overall by the New York Islanders at the 1980 NHL Entry Draft, Greg Gilbert would go on to play a total of fifteen (15) seasons in the National Hockey League, equating to 837 games with the likes of the New York Islanders, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers and St. Louis Blues. A three-time Stanley Cup champion, offered here is this Blackhawks jersey worn by Gilbert during the 1992-93 season, his last one spent in "The Windy City". Made by CCM and displaying both Ultrafil and size "54" labels affixed to the inner collar, the logos of both CCM and the NHL have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front of the bright red garment with Chicago's famed Indian head crest that includes beautiful chain-stitched details throughout its entirety, matching chain-stitched tomahawk alternate logo patches have been added atop of both shoulders as well. Sporting the Stanley Cup centennial crest that was worn by all the NHL's teams throughout the season over the right breast, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Gilbert's number "14" in dual layer white-over-black tackle twill numerals while "Gilbert" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Exhibiting with light game-wear and retaining its original fight strap on the interior, light stick marks are present over the front, reverse and both sleeves while coloured board paint transfers are found over the front hem and right sleeve. Also featuring light board burns over both sleeve, the interior of the jersey shows light pilling around the elbows that is worth noting for accuracy.
