Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Directly from the personal collection of Summit Series Team Canada member Red Berenson, we have a wonderful pair of items that celebrate that momentous 1972 victory. Included, we have a rarely-seen pair of Team Canada 1972 official cufflinks along with a sterling silver player’s coin. The ¾” x ¾” cufflinks feature a raised design with generic player and half maple leaf, while the 1972 coin feature’s "Players Medal Sterling" on the edge along with 3 different hallmarks. “Canada vs USSR” appears on either side of the obverse, with a generic hockey scene on the reverse. The coin is also accompanied by it’s original Wellings box with “Canada –U.S.S.R. – Hockey Canada – 1972” over the lid in gold. A signed LOA from Red Berenson will accompany.
The cufflinks remain in amazing NOS condition with just very light wear, while the coin exhibits heavy surface wear including oxidation to both sides and along the edge.
