Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Big lot features several items of NHL All-Star goalie Gilles Gilbert’s Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins game-worn equipment and a Northland goalie stick signed by Gilbert that features a huge early Wayne Gretzky black marker dedicated autograph on the front of the blade. Gilbert’s signed LOA accompanies his early-1980s Red Wings game-worn equipment, which includes his skates, each of which is signed with an annotation, his signed and annotated Jofa cage mask, and his goalie pants. Also included are Gilbert’s circa 1979-80 Bruins blocker and trapper gloves along with two signed jerseys he wore for the Vladislav Tretiak Goaltending School and the International Institute of Hockey.
The Northland goalie stick has “Gilbert” stamped on the shaft and Registered Pattern Number “0452-1” stamps. Dedicated autograph sprawled across the front of the blade reads “To Terry, Good Luck, Wayne Gretzky” in bold black marker, with a date that appears to be “82” for the year. Gilbert played his final three NHL seasons for Detroit from 1980-83.
Gilbert’s signed LOA covers his Red Wings game-worn equipment, which includes a pair of Lange Master goalie skates, each signed by Gilles along with “Last NHL Game” annotation, and his red Cooper game-worn goalie pants. Gilbert has signed in bold black marker on the inside ear padding of his Red Wings game-worn Jofa helmet and cage combo.
Gilbert’s Bruins Cooper black game-worn blocker and trapper gloves round out the lot along with his goalie school jerseys which have black marker signatures.
