Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
Originally founded as the Detroit Cougars in 1926, this Red Wings jersey was worn by Gerard Gallant in 1985-86 while celebrating the club’s 60th anniversary. Completely void of its former tagging, the jersey has embroidered Eastside and CCM patches on the bottom hem. Styled with tackle twill numbers and letters, the back name is affixed directly onto the sweater. With a beautiful winged-wheel team crest and intact fight strap, the embroidered 60th anniversary patch resides over the left shoulder. Game-use includes a few marks on the jersey’s front, along with board burns with resulting holes on both elbows. There is also some staining beneath the team crest worth mentioning.
