Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
A veteran of over 1,200 NHL games, Gary Roberts was drafted by Calgary in 1984 and dressed for six different teams throughout his lengthy career. A Stanley Cup champion with the Flames in 1989, the North York native is also a three-time All-Star, with the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy won in 1996. This Penguins alternate captain's jersey was worn by Roberts during his second of two seasons in Pennsylvania in 2007-08, which also served as his penultimate career season. A CCM label with 58 sizing is affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests gracing both the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with the familiar Pens team crest with embroidered detailing, the “Set 2” V-neck has been finished with "10" in oversized and textured tri-colour sleeve and verso numbers, with the Pittsburgh 250th anniversary crest over the right shoulder. Pens equipment manager Dana Heinze has also signed the fight strap. Game-wear is light and consists of a few marks to the left sleeve. A COA from the Penguins will accompany.
