Rallying from a 3-1 deficit to force a seventh game against the Colorado Avalanche during the first round of the 2001-02 Stanley Cup playoffs, Felix Potvin and the Los Angeles Kings came up just short, losing 4-0 in the deciding game, with the offered Kings jersey worn in the playoffs by Potvin photo-matched to Game 1 of the series on April 18, 2002. A sewn-down CCM “Goalie Style” label and size “58” fly tag grace the collar, with embroidered KOHO and NHL crests over the reverse neckline and bottom him respectively. Styled with an attractive Kings team crest with embroidered detailing and “Los Angeles” in single twill beneath, the purple tie-neck has been accented with textured tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with the 2002 All-Star Game crest sewn to the right breast and Garnet E. 'Ace' Bailey/Mark Bavis 9/11 memorial patch to the left. The “Playoffs 2002” team patch resides on the inside hem, and it’s been initialed by team trainer Peter Millar. Hailing from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Felix Potvin will accompany.
Sporting light game-use, there are a few marks that are hard to see against the black background, with no unsightly wear or damage. Getty Image #642594 (April 18, 2002) has been matched to a small loose thread as well as extra threading on the edges of the LA 2002 ASG patch, and to the visible long purple threads in the right top area of the team crest (sun logo).
