Evgeni Nabokov's photo-matched San Jose Sharks game-worn mask displays a classic Warwick Masks paint job. The Russian goalie began wearing this mask in 2002-03 and though he did not wear it the following the season, he returned to it for the Sharks' three rounds of the 2004 Stanley Cup playoffs. "Nabby" even used it in his native Russia when he played for Magnitogorsk Mettalurg during the 2004-05 lockout! Solid photo matches include a paint chip over the fish's eye on the left side of the front of the helmet, the crack in the middle of the back of the helmet on top, white paint on the back left edge, and brownish stains on the bottom straps where they emerge from the backplate. All original padding remains in place, including the Velcro-attached sweatband across the forehead. Gold paint pen inscriptions inside the helmet on the back edge of both earholes note that the mask was custom made by Grant Warwick for Nabokov, including one dated "11/10/02" on the right side. The inscription on the left side lists the masks components. A fantastic opportunity for any Sharks/game-worn masks collection!
