Not long before Eric Lindros won a silver medal with Canada at the 1992 Albertville Olympics he captained Team Canada at the IIHF world junior championships in Germany. Lindros had two goals and eight assists for 10 points in seven games to tie Alex Kovalev of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Sweden’s Markus Naslund and Mikael Renberg, his future Legion of Doom linemate in Philadelphia, for third in tournament scoring. Big E’s 1991-92 Team Canada world junior championships game-worn captain’s jersey is photo-matched by Getty Images #124133723 to a number of black marks in the white area on the lower right sleeve in a picture of Lindros shaking hands with Kovalev after Canada’s 7-2 loss to the gold medal CIS team on Jan. 4, 1992. A sewn-on white twill “C” sits on the red mesh patch sewn onto the left breast of Lindros’ No. 88 light mesh gamer, which has Tackla size XL flag tag in the back of the neck. There is a coarsely stitched team repair low on the left sleeve and game wear includes black marks and board burns on the sleeves and blue paint transfer on the right front tail. Comes with Eric Lindros’ signed LOA.
