Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Current Stanley Cup champions while losing only 20 games during the 1984-85 season, the Edmonton Oilers and Wayne Gretzky concluded their sixth NHL season in second overall, and met and defeated the first-place Philadelphia Flyers in just five games – including four-straight – to claim their second-consecutive championship. This important historical collection of 35mm colour Edmonton Oilers negatives from the 1985 Stanley Cup finals totals approx 579, with roughly 65 that include the one and only Gretzky (27 proof sheets and segments with the images from the negatives are also included). Highlights include images of Gretzky, Mike Keenan and Glen Sather being interviewed, images of Pele Lindberg in game-action, fans celebrating, images of the Oilers and Gretzky posing and celebrating with the Stanley Cup, and much more! The negatives all exhibit expected handling wear.
