Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/29/2023
Missing the playoffs in just six of his eighteen NHL seasons, HOF goaltender Ed Belfour backstopped the Dallas Stars to a Stanley Cup championship in 1999. From the twilight of his career in Toronto, we have a Leafs third jersey worn by Eddie the Eagle during the 2003-04 regular-season and playoffs, with the jersey photo-matched to the Stanley Cup playoffs. "Goalie Style" labeling with a size "60" tag is affixed to the collar, with KOHO and NHL patches on the back neckline and bottom hem respectively. Featuring a gorgeous classic-style Leafs team crest with embroidered detailing, "20" is sewn to the sleeves and verso in single blue twill, with "Belfour" across the nameplate. The jersey sports marks to the front and paint transfer to the sleeves, with pilling to the collar. There is also a single team repair to the lower front. Getty Image #3443266 (Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, April 18, 2004) has been matched to a few marks on the lower front of the jersey, with the dark mark on the right sleeve also visible. A MeiGray patch numbered "B08438" is affixed to the inside hem, and according to the population report, the jersey is a "Third Set 1 / Playoffs" specimen. An LOA will accompany, along with the photo used for the photo-match.
