Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
From his last of five seasons spent in Texas, we have Ed Belfour’s 2001-02 Dallas Stars game-worn jersey that’s been photo-matched. With CCM “Goalie Style” tagging in collar, there’s also additional embroidered CCM and NHL patches on the back neckline and bottom hem. Styled with tackle twill adornments, the garment features a beautiful Stars team crest with matching Texas patches over each shoulder. Extensive photo-matched game-use is notable with two large rips to the front section, with one on the lower front, the other to the left of the team crest. There is also a large stick mark on the team crest itself, along with additional scattered marks and even a few tiny board burns on the right sleeve. From the personal collection of Ed Belfour, an LOA from Ed will be included with this highly desirable garment.
As mentioned, this jersey has also been photo-matched to Getty image #81343804, which shows matches to the loose thread on the Dallas patch on the left shoulder top right corner, to loose white thread at the right middle edge, to loose black thread on the middle of the semi-circular section - also to two black loose threads on "2" of "20" on the left sleeve – and to the small black mark on the lower tip of the team crest. The historic jersey has also been photo-matched to a 2002-03 Upper Deck card – matching the small black mark at the end of the "S" of "Stars" on the team crest.
