As current Stanley Cup champions in 1999, Ed Belfour and the Dallas Stars would finish first in the Patrick Division in 1999-00, culminating in a second-straight Stanley Cup appearance. This Dallas Stars jersey was worn by the HOF goaltender in Games 1 and 2 of the 2000 Stanley Cup Finals according to the accompanying team letter and it has been photo-matched to a game from the 1999-2000 regular season. A CCM “Goalie Style” label along with a size 58 fly tag are affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM patches (with “3” handwritten on the reverse) on the back bottom hem. The team stamp resides on the inside hem, and it divulges that this garment is a “Set 3” example. A team LOA along with a COR from MeiGray will accompany.
Styled with a textured and partially embroidered Stars team crest, the v-neck sweater has been embellished with tri-colour tackle twill numbers, with the NHL 2000 patch above the right breast, and the important 2000 Stanley Cup crest just beneath. Game-wear includes a few marks on the lower front and over each sleeve, with light pilling just above the bottom front hem. There is also some fraying to the thread on the nameplate on verso. Regarding the previously mentioned photo-match, Getty Image #72481049 from February 11th 2000 has been matched to the distinct pattern of threading on the “N” of “NHL” on the NHL 2000 crest, to the alignment of threading on each “L” of “Dallas” on the team crest, and to exposed threading visible along the top of the “T” of “Stars” on the team crest. The image has also been matched to the exposed threading at the very tip of the upper right point of the star on the team crest.
