Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Originally founded in 1959 and playing in the EHL until 1972, the Greensboro Generals were noted for being one of the first Southern American franchises to garner considerable support and build a solid fan base. This Generals #10 jersey was worn during the early-1960s. Void of any labeling, the vintage durene sweater measures-out to roughly a modern size 46. Sporting “Generals” across the chest in individual white twill letters, “10” appears over the front and verso in matching material, with 10 attractive stars affixed, evenly spread between both shoulders. Hammered with use, game-wear includes marks and small holes over the front, with additional holes over each sleeve. There is also some wear to the reverse number and threading, with small holes/tears along seams, most prominently over the upper reverse and along the collar, with additional holes over each shoulder.
