The 1977 Heisman Trophy winner, Texas running back Earl Campbell run roughshod over the NFL after the Houston Oilers drafted him with the No. 1 pick in 1978. Campbell won NFL Rookie of the Year honors and was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Year in each of his first three seasons with the Oilers, winning the Associated Press’ NFL Most Valuable Player in 1979 when he lead the league with 1,697 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns. One of the best power running backs in NFL history, he is a member of both the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Campbell has signed with the “HOF 91” annotation on both an Oilers helmet and his No. 34 Oilers jersey. His blue marker autograph sits on the right side of the front of the full-size Oilers football helmet, which has a Tri-Star hologram sticker affixed to the right rear. Campbell has signed in bold black marker on the “4” of the white-and-red double twill No. 34 sewn on the back of his Oilers career accomplishments jersey, which has “Earl Campbell, Houston Oilers, 1978 #1 Draft Pick, 1979 NFL MVP, 5X Pro Bowler, Hall of Fame 1991” embroidered in white thread on the rear tail. A Tri-Star hologram sticker is affixed to the bottom of the signed number. There are two tiny yellow spot stains inside the back of the collar, which has a “100% polyester, XL, Made in Philippines” flag tag.
