One of the six expansion franchises granted to begin play at the start of the 1967-68 season, the Oakland Seals would enjoy nine seasons in the Bay Area before relocating to Cleveland in 1976. Hailing from the Barry Meisel collection, we proudly offer this Oakland Seals jersey worn by Doug Roberts during the 1969-70 season. Made by Wilson, tagging from the brand displaying a size “46” designation is affixed to the inner collar. Featuring a green lace tie up collar, the front of the jersey is decorated with a beautiful Seals team crest in layered tackle twill with chain stitched details while the sleeves and verso have had Roberts’ number “2” sewn to them in green-over-blue tackle twill. Exhibiting excellent game-wear, the lower front and sleeves of the piece show numerous dark stick marks while a brown coloured small stain is also seen under the team crest. Board burns are also present over each sleeve, with blue paint transfer seen on the left sleeve and a small unrepaired hole observed over the right sleeve. Team repairs total three (3) with examples found at the collar and between the cuff and elbow of the right sleeve as well as to the middle of the back number “2”. Void of a fight strap on the interior, good pilling is seen on the inside of this desirable durene garment. A MeiGray LOA will accompany the piece.
