Playing his junior hockey with the St. Catherines Teepees and Black Hawks of the OHA from 1960 to 1964, Doug Jarrett would finally crack the lineup of the Chicago Black Hawks in 1964-65 and staying with the Windy City club for a total of 721 games over the course of 11-years before finishing his career with a 2-year stint in the bright lights of Manhattan with the New York Rangers. Offered here, we present this pair of gloves worn by Jarrett during his time with Chicago in the mid-1970s. CCM made gauntlets in Chicago's red, black and white colour way, a letter "M" is stamped inside the wrist guard of each glove, Jarrett's number "4" is painted in white over the front of each cuff while the number appears again in white vinyl decals over the the faded white CCM logos on the inside of each wrist. Exhibiting nice game-wear via the palm on the upper right hand being darkened and smoothed, a hole has worn through at the base of the right thumb while the inner edge of the left thumb has separated at the seam from use. With the rest of the palms otherwise intact, the outside of both gloves show numerous marks and abrasions worth pointing out for accuracy while the insides show sweat staining and soiling from use. Also including a signed 8" x 10" team-issued photo that has been signed by Jarrett in black ballpoint pen with the signature remaining in excellent condition and sporting just light fading, the gloves were gifted by Jarrett to the former Senior Vice-President of Outboard Marine in Waukegan, Illinois and are accompanied by a letter of provenance.
