Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
The first European-trained starting goaltender to win the Stanley Cup, Dominik Hasek would collect a pair during his time in Detroit, along with six Vezina Trophies won between 1993 and 2001. We have a signed stick used by Hasek during his last season in Buffalo in 2000-01, a season that witnessed both a Vezina along with a William Jennings Trophy for the Czech superstar. A TPS model with Kevlar, “Hasek” factory graphics appear over the handle, with the stick retaining its original tape on the blade and knob. Obviously a favourite, heavy and extensive use is exhibited, with considerable puck marks covering both sides of the taped section of blade, along with additional marks to the paddle and shaft. There is also red paint transfer covering one side of the shaft, with the top of the paddle at the handle custom shaved and slightly cracked. Hasek has added an attractive black marker signature on the top front side of the paddle, and it displays well.
