Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Ranked number 31 on The Hockey News' list of the 100 Greatest Hockey Players in 1998, Dickie Moore spent parts of a dozen seasons with his hometown Montreal Canadiens and was a member of six Stanley Cup championships, with consecutive Art Ross Trophies won in 1958 and 1959. This lot features a quartet of items signed by the 1974 HOF inductee, with a jersey, stick, skates and framed photo. First, the Habs jersey is a Reebok model with “XL” sizing and tackle twill team crest and numbers, with Moore adding a blue marker signature to the reverse “2” that shows heavy bleeding. Next, the photo is a Quaker Oats premium, signed by Dickie over the bottom right in black marker, matted and framed to just over 11” x 14”. The stick is a rarely-seen circa-1950s Battleship College Dickie Moore model, with “Moore” and “12” stamped to the upper shaft, with Moore adding a black marker signature to one side of the shaft (the stick is taped and shows light use, but was never used by Moore). Finally, the skates are circa 1930s/40s CCM models with two-tone leather boots and show moderate use including some rusting to the blades, with Moore adding a thin and flawless silver ink signature to the left skate, adding “HOF 1974” and “6 Cups”.
