Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Originating from the Hockey Diversified Inc NHL Goal Puck Program that witnessed pucks used to score goals during NHL games in 1972-73 and 1973-74 labeled and sold, we have an example from the second year of the program. This particular puck was used by Dennis O’Brien to score the Minnesota North Stars 55th goal of the season vs the California Golden Seals, at the Met Center, on Nov 24, 1973. Assisted by Buster Harvey and Danny Grant, it was O’Brien's 1st of his 5 goals of the season, with a total of 31 career goals scored. The first goal of the third period to put the Stars ahead at 3:03, the marker would serve as the game winner, with the Stars doubling-up on the Seals at home, 6-3. The rubberized North Stars logo is a bit dark, with the Goal Puck Program label also dark with blemishes.
