Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020

Carrying the moniker “Mighy Atom” due to his diminutive size, Aurele Joliat was especially tenacious and determined despite his meager stature, with any player brave enough to knock off his trademark cap inviting his wrath. We have a rarely seen photo of the HOF superstar, with this attractive print vintage-signed by Joliat. At 7 ¾” x 9 ¾”, the 1934 Hart Trophy-recipient is pictured in his Habs uniform, with his dark ink signature placed over the right side, along with a dedication. The signature remains especially dark, with absolutely no concerns. Additional French text has been handwritten over the reverse and initialed by Joliat, with it basically thanking his friend for a bottle of alcohol. An LOA from JSA will accompany.
The photo itself exhibits some toning over the front and reverse, with a small area of paper loss over the bottom left corner. There is also some surface wear near the image, with a few small indentations that pierce through the photo to the right of the signature.
