Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
A UND Fighting Sioux alum, Dave Tippett appeared for four different clubs over his eleven seasons in the NHL, with the bulk of his time spent with Hartford. The Moosomin native later coached both the Dallas Stars and Phoenix Coyotes after his playing days. We have a Whalers alternate captain’s jersey worn by Tippet in the late-1980s, circa 1987-89. A faded Maska Air-Knit label with handwritten “15” is affixed to the collar along with an embroidered CCM crest over the lower hem, with the V-neck sweater measuring-out to roughly a size 50. Styled with a layered blue and green tackle twill team crest, “15” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “Tippett” affixed directly to the upper reverse. Sporting an intact dual-clasp fight strap, a plethora of dark marks cover the front and sleeves, along with slits/holes over the front band and elbow sections. There is also pilling in spots, as well as what appears to be a small blood stain on the lower edge of the front hem.
