Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022

Surpassing previous records by Rocket Richard in 1944 and Bert Olmstead in 1954, Darryl Sittler entered the history books on an unassuming night during the 1975-76 NHL season when the HOFer scored an unbelievable 10 points in a single contest! Occurring on Feb 7, 1976 vs Boston, Sittler and the Leafs crushed the Bruins 11-4, with Sittler netting hat tricks in the second and third periods along with 4 assists. This signed stick has been attributed to the historic match, which also included Sittler's 150th milestone career goal (the first goal he scored in the match). A CCM Custom Pro model with “27” handwritten to the upper shaft, the original black tape remains on the blade and white/black spiral pattern over the handle. Exhibiting nice use with wear and marks to the taped section of blade and lower shaft, handwritten period notations are present, including a personalization to trainer Joe Sgro signed by Sittler of "To Joe, best wishes Darryl Sittler Feb 7/76" over the upper shaft, followed in descending order by notations from Sgro including "2 period in the game score Tor 8 Boston 4 / final score Tor 11 Bos 4, Sittler had 6 goals - 4 assists" (this was the final notation added), "have? 150th goal stick" (Sittler’s first goal of the game was his 150th NHL career goal and occurred early on in the 2nd period and was his 3 point of the game, with this notation believed to have been written first), and finally, "Sittler has 7 points 3 goals 4 assists" (this notation would have occurred at the end of the 2nd period). An LOA will accompany.
