Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
A wiry defenceman never afraid to enter the fray, Darius Kasparaitis saw an amazing 21 seasons of professional hockey, with 14 of those spent in the NHL. This Penguins home jersey was worn by the Olympic gold medal winner during the 1997-98 regular season. Labeling from Starter along with a “52-R” swatch sit affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and Starter crests over the back bottom hem. Styled with an attractive and textured Pens team crest, the white mesh V-neck has been accented with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Kasparaitis“ across the nameplate in matching material. A number of puck and stick marks are visible with large examples on the reverse, with additional marks along with some warping/puckering to the team crest. The fight strap has also been broken, most likely from some desperate individual trying to de-jersey Kasparaitis. An LOA from the Penguins organization will accompany, along with a COR from MeiGray.
